Reliance Industries: The Andhra Pradesh government and Reliance Group on Tuesday signed a Rs 65,000 crore deal to set up 500 compressed biogas (CBG) plants in the state over the next three years. The agreement was signed at the state secretariat in Amaravati in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar,, and senior officials of the Reliance Group.

"Very happy to sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Reliance. The key features of the deal include setting up of 500 CBG plants in the coming three years," the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) quoted Naidu as saying in a statement.
Expenses per CBG
According to the Chief Minister, the group will invest Rs 130 crore in each CBG plant. This will create an estimated 2.5 lakh jobs. Naidu said the initiative will benefit the state by Rs 57,000 crore over the next 25 years through SGST collection, power charges, and other revenues.
