Preity Zinta has shared a post on Instagram demanding justice for the Kolkata victim. The actress has written, 'We are the fifth largest economy in the world. The voting percentage of both male and female voters was around 66 percent in this election, with female voters predicted to outnumber male voters in the next election. Now the time has come for the government to prioritize women's safety. It is heartbreaking that a rapist's face is hidden or covered when arrested, while the names and faces of victims of rape and violent sexual crime are leaked to the media. Justice is never quick, punishment is never harsh and people are never held accountable.'

The actress further wrote, 'Many women lose their dignity and their lives, and it never really matters, until it happens to you. Now is the time for all women to stand together and make women's safety a political issue. As a woman, I want to say that I am sorry for Nirbhaya, Maamita, and every girl who has been wronged. I am sorry that I did not fight enough for you in the past. But no more! Until we are all safe, none of us are safe!'
