The Bombay High Court (HC) has granted cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and dancer Dhanashree Verma a divorce, waiving the mandatory six-month cooling-off period. The decision comes after the couple, who have been living separately since June 2022, filed for divorce in February 2025.

Bombay HC Overrules Family Court’s Decision

Initially, on February 20, a family court rejected their plea to exempt the cooling-off period. However, the Bombay High Court stepped in and ordered the family court to take a final decision by March 20, considering that Chahal would be unavailable after March 21 due to the start of IPL 2025.

The court agreed to fast-track the proceedings as the couple had already lived separately for over two and a half years and had mutually settled all terms during mediation.

Alimony Details: Chahal to Pay ₹4.75 Crore to Dhanashree

The remaining amount to be paid after the final divorce decree

This settlement officially ends their marriage, which began in December 2020.
