Threat Messages to Salman Khan : Mumbai Police has arrested a 24-year-old man for sending threatening messages to actor Salman Khan. An aspiring lyricist was arrested on Tuesday for demanding Rs 5 crore from Salman in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. An official gave this information. Police said that Sohail Pasha, who was arrested from Raichur in Karnataka, wanted the song written by him to become famous and he used this trick for this purpose.
5 crore ransom was demanded
Mumbai Traffic Police's WhatsApp helpline received several messages on November 7 in which the sender identified himself as a member of the Bishnoi gang. He said that Salman Khan would be killed if he was not given Rs 5 crore. The sender of the threatening message warned that he would also kill the writer of the song 'Main Sikandar Hoon'.
This is how the accused Sohail Pasha was caught.
The Mumbai Police Crime Branch tracked the mobile number from which the messages were received from Raichur. A team was sent to Karnataka and the owner of the number, Vyankatesh Narayan, was questioned. But Narayan's mobile phone did not have internet facility, the official said.
The police then found out that a WhatsApp installation OTP had come on his phone. Narayan told the police that on November 3, a stranger approached him in the market and asked if he could have his phone to make a call. Investigation revealed that the man had installed WhatsApp on his mobile using Narayan's mobile number to receive the OTP, the officer said.
Following this, the crime branch team zeroed in on Pasha in Manavi village near Raichur. He turned out to be the writer of the song "Main Sikandar Hoon", the official said. He wanted to make his song famous and so he resorted to the ploy of sending threatening messages to a famous person. Pasha was brought to Mumbai and handed over to the Worli police for further investigation, the official said. The traffic police helpline has received at least four threatening messages from Salman Khan in recent months.
