In a tragic incident, a flight during its landing at South Korea's Muan Airport collided at the South Korean airport barrier resulting in the demise of 179 people on board the flight. Following this incident, the country's transport ministry revealed that the black boxes used to record the data stopped recording four minutes before the collision.

According to the transport ministry of South Korea, the cockpit voice recorders and flight data used to trace the flight were deactivated four minutes ahead of the Muan airport incident as reported by Reuters.

When a plane flies, two recording devices are working to trace all the sounds including the Commander’s voice, these are known as CVR and FDR. South Korean Transport Ministry commented that FDR and CVR did not work in the crucial moments and there is a major gap of four minutes.

The US National Transportation Safety Board Laboratory has been chosen to inspect the newly acquired black boxes for the South Korea crash that occurred, with the hope of discovering what caused the black boxes to stop recording towards the final moments.

What Occurred on The 29th of December

The aircraft was a Boeing 737-800 enrolled on a flight from Thailand to Muan South Korea. The aircraft carried 181 passengers and crew members, it regrettably during trespassed its operating limits and turned into a belly down power on stall around December 29 at Muan Airport stationed in South Korea. The unfortunate event lead the aircraft to shatter into a fireball after colliding with a C200 barrier.

This was one of the biggest tragedies in Korean air travel history especially considering such an event has not happened since 1997 when Korean Airlines lost a total of two hundred and twenty eight lives in a plane crash in Guam.

The control tower had advised the pilots of a bird strike before the plane was set to land. When the plane was suited to land on cruise, reports suggest that the pilots began to try and land from the back side of the Muan International Airport as they out a call for mayday.

To further the situation, the plane began to lose its course on the runway while simultaneously crashing into a concrete fence which ignited the aircraft. The most shocking piece of information however, was the fact that the gear failed to assist the plane with the normal functions on landing.
