Deepak Babaria Resign : After the defeat of Congress in the Haryana assembly elections, a wave of resignations has started. Congress' Haryana in-charge Deepak Babaria has offered to resign. He said on Monday that he has offered to resign from his post taking moral responsibility for the defeat in the assembly elections. Babaria said that he had offered his resignation to the high command immediately after the results of the Haryana assembly elections were announced last week, but he has not been informed about any decision on this matter.

Babaria said, that even after the Lok Sabha elections, I had offered to resign from the post of in-charge of Delhi, but no decision was taken on it. Similarly, no decision has been taken for Haryana.

Congress formed a fact-finding committee.

Top Congress leaders on Thursday held a review meeting on the party's defeat in the Haryana assembly elections and decided to form a fact-finding team that will hold discussions with all party candidates to find out the reasons for the defeat. Sources said during the meeting, the leaders discussed the possible reasons for the unexpected results in Haryana and decided to form a team to find out the reasons for the results as well as look into complaints of anomalies in EVMs, as alleged by party candidates. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, former party chief Rahul Gandhi, party general secretary (organization) KC Venugopal, party's senior observers for elections Ashok Gehlot and Ajay Maken as well as AICC secretaries for the state attended the review meeting. The party in charge of Haryana Babaria joined the meeting online.

BJP had won 4 seats

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) returned to power for the third consecutive time by winning 48 seats in the elections for the 90-member Haryana Assembly. This also proved wrong the various exit polls which had predicted an easy victory for the Congress in Haryana. Congress got 37 seats.
