KL Rahul Met Sanjeev Goenka: Before IPL 2025, there was a lot of talk that Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul was keen to find a new destination, but a meeting put an end to all these speculations. In the last season of IPL, a video of an onfield conversation between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) owner Sanjeev Goenka and KL Rahul went viral. After this, there was speculation that Rahul would leave the franchise before the mega auction.
However, according to a Cricbuzz report, there is a new twist in the story. There are reports that the Super Giants are in favor of retaining KL Rahul in IPL 2025 as well. The report claims that Rahul met Sanjiv Goenka in Kolkata on Monday (August 26). It is being told that the meeting lasted for about an hour in which discussions were held on retaining the players in the upcoming IPL season.
Earlier, in IPL 2024, after LSG's humiliating 10-wicket defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad, a video of Goenka having a heated argument with Rahul went viral, which was also discussed a lot in the cricket world.
Just a few days ago, there was news that LSG may appoint Zaheer Khan as the mentor of the team. Justin Langer is the head coach of the team. Currently, it is not clear how many players the franchise will retain before the mega auction.
This matter is still under discussion. The final decision of the BCCI is yet to come on this. Last month, the owners of all the 10 IPL teams met BCCI officials in Mumbai, where it was reported that there are differences of opinion on key issues among all the franchises.
