Arsh Dalla extradition from Canada: India on Thursday said it would request Canada for the extradition of Arsh Singh Gill alias Arsh Dalla, the effective head of the Khalistan Tiger Force, after his arrest in Canada. Dalla was declared a terrorist in India in 2023. In July 2023, India had requested the Canadian government for his provisional arrest.

"Given the recent arrest, our agencies will process the extradition request," External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said.

He said, 'Given Arsh Dalla's criminal record in India and his involvement in similar illegal activities in Canada, it is expected that he will be extradited or deported to face justice in India.'

Jaiswal said, "We have seen media reports since November 10 about the arrest of proclaimed offender Arsh Singh Gill alias Arsh Dalla, the effective chief of Khalistan Tiger Force, in Canada." He said, "The Canadian print and visual media have widely reported about the arrest. We have come to know that the case has been listed for hearing by the Ontario court."

Jaiswal was responding to media queries regarding Dalla's arrest. Jaiswal said, "Arsh Dalla is a proclaimed offender in more than 50 cases including murder, attempt to murder, extortion, and financing of terror activities. A Red Corner Notice was issued against him in May 2022." He said, "He was designated as an individual terrorist in India in 2023. In July 2023, the Indian government requested the Canadian government for his provisional arrest. It was rejected."

Jaiswal said India has provided additional information to Canadian authorities in the case. Jaiswal said, 'A separate request was also sent to Canada under the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) to verify the details of Arsh Dalla's suspected residential address, his financial transactions in India, movable/immovable properties, mobile numbers, etc. - all these details were provided to Canadian authorities in January 2023. ' He said, 'In December 2023, the Department of Justice of Canada sought additional information on the matter. Answers to these questions were sent in March this year. '
