Ashwin Retirement: Wednesday morning was filled with emotions for Indian fans when veteran bowler Ravichandran Ashwin announced his retirement from international cricket. No one had any idea that Ashwin would surprise everyone in this way. As soon as Ashwin announced his retirement from international cricket with 537 Test wickets, a flood of emotions erupted among all the cricketers including fans.
Coach Gautam Gambhir posted on Instagram and wished him all the best for the future. I know that bowlers of future generations will say that I became a bowler because of Ashwin! I will miss you brother!
BCCI President Rajiv Shukla also congratulated Ashwin and said, "BCCI has a very clear policy. It is up to the player to decide when a player will retire. We never decide... Today Ravichandran Ashwin has retired. This is his decision and his contribution to Indian and world cricket is huge... it cannot be forgotten. We appreciate his contribution and we wish him all the best for his future."
Dinesh Karthik called him the greatest player of Tamil Nadu and wrote 'Well done for an outstanding career. Proud to have played with you. You are definitely the greatest player to have played for Tamil Nadu.
On Ashwin's retirement, Virat Kohli wrote an emotional post and wished him all the best for the future. Earlier, when it was raining in Brisbane, both of them were emotionally hugging each other and it was expected that something big was going to happen. That is what happened and after some time Ashwin announced his retirement.
