The question which raised after India’s loss to New Zealand and whitewashed 0-3 at their home and the loss of Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia with a score of 1-3 is that why all those losses happened in the first place. Furthermore, it is important to note that India was defeated in an ODI series against Sri Lanka before Gambhir was appointed as head coach. This is the first time when India has failed to book a spot in WTC Finals and the blame for all this somehow falls on Gautam as he was appointed India’s head coach. The BCCI is said to be reviewing Gambhir's performance and one of the issues they have with him is the fact that all of his auxiliary coaches come from KKR.

As stated by BCCI Kharo Kharu sources, it is noted that they do not appreciate the support staff of India’s team having the KKR influence. Since Gambhir had been one of the KKR support staff members for IPL 2024, Nayar and Doeschate were hired as his assistant coaches. He criticized ten Doeschate's role for the team, saying, what he is doing, just sitting.

In fact, they were able to conclude that Nayar has not been ‘up to the mark’ as far as his job is concerned. Therefore, the board is willing to either relieve him of his duties or employ a new batting coach alongside him.

Sitanshu Kotak To Be Appointed As New Batting Coach

The Times of India, Sitanshu Kotak is reported to be in discussions with BCCI to become the next batting coach of Indian team. He was recently appointed as the head coach of India A team. he also was the head coach in between for Team India which played against Ireland for a T20I series in 2023 under the captaincy of Jasprit Bumrah.

Awhile ago, an Indian media outlet broke the news that the BCCI was going on a hunt to find new batting coach indicating of changes in India’s support staff, whom former England captain Kevin Pietersen wished to be signed as the coach on a post on his account on X.
