BCCI New Secretary : Devjit Saikia on Saturday filed his nomination for the post of secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) while Prabhtej Bhatia applied for the post of treasurer. These two officials are the only candidates to file nominations in their roles. Bhatia of the Chhattisgarh State Cricket Association has applied for the post of treasurer as it fell vacant due to the departure of Ashish Shelar. Shelar was recently sworn in as a cabinet minister in the Maharashtra government.

On the other hand, Sakia has been working as the interim secretary of the BCCI since Jay Shah became the chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) on December 1. Sakia was named as the interim secretary by BCCI president Roger Bonnie after Shah stepped down.

According to the election schedule on the board's website, nomination applications could be filed till 4 pm on Saturday and only Sakia and Bhatia have filed their nominations.
