A team of Mumbai Police reached Madhya Pradesh on Sunday in search of an accused involved in the murder of Baba Siddiqui. A police official told PTI - "A team of Mumbai Police is searching for the accused (who hails from Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh) in collaboration with Madhya Pradesh Police. They suspect that he may be hiding in Madhya Pradesh and he is being searched in Ujjain district and Omkareshwar (in Khandwa district) of the state.
The accused is changing his location.
No one has been traced till 7.30 pm, the official said. The suspected accused is probably changing his hideout frequently, he said. Mumbai police have so far arrested two people in connection with the murder. They suspect the involvement of more people in the killing. A crime branch official told reporters in Mumbai in the evening that Mumbai police have formed 15 teams which have been sent outside Maharashtra and an investigation is on to find out who provided logistical support to the shooters. Police said two pistols and 28 cartridges have been recovered from the two arrested accused so far.
The three men surrounded Baba Siddiqui and killed him
Baba Siddiqui was surrounded and shot by three men outside the office of his MLA son Zeeshan Siddiqui in Kher Nagar in the Bandra area of Mumbai on Saturday night. According to Mumbai Police, Baba was rushed to Lilavati Hospital in an injured condition, where he was declared dead.
