Dhaka: Amid political instability in the country, the Bangladesh Cricket Board announced a 16-member team for the Pakistan tour on Sunday. The Bangladesh team will play 2 test matches against Pakistan in the series starting on 21 August. The command of the 16-member Bangladesh team has been handed over to Nazmul Hasan Shanto. Five fast bowlers have been given a place in the team. Senior and experienced players like Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim have also been included in the team.

Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed has been given a place in the team for the second Test match. Taskin has not played any Test match for Bangladesh since June 2023. Taskin will not play the first Test match of the series. He has been included in the Bangladesh A team which will play a four-day match against Pakistan A. He will try to regain his rhythm by playing in it.

Matches will be played in Rawalpindi and Karachi

The first match of the two-match Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh will be played in Rawalpindi from 21 to 25 August. The second and last Test will be played in Karachi from 30 August to 3 September. This series is part of the third round of the World Test Championship, so both teams would like to strengthen their position in the points table with a win in the series.

Bangladesh's account of victory is not opened

A total of 13 test matches have been played between Pakistan and Bangladesh so far, out of which Pakistan has won 12 while one match ended in a draw. Bangladesh has not been able to open its account of victory in test matches against Pakistan.
