AAP MLA Abdul Rehman Resigns: Delhi's Seelampur MLA Abdul Rehman has resigned from the primary membership of the Aam Aadmi Party. MLA Abdul Rehman said that today I am resigning from the primary membership of Aam Aadmi Party. The party has ignored the rights of Muslims by getting entangled in the politics of power. He said that Arvind Kejriwal has always done his politics away from the issues of the people. I will keep fighting for justice and rights.

Abdul Rehman resigned

The Seelampur MLA wrote, 'I, Abdul Rehman, MLA, Seelampur Assembly, am today deciding with a heavy heart to resign from the Aam Aadmi Party and the party. This decision was not easy for me, but after the way Muslims and other deprived communities have been neglected in the party's leadership and policies, it has become my moral duty.

'The party's indifference towards Muslims'

He said that at the time of founding the party, I had considered it to be a party that would serve the people by rising above religion, caste, and community, but in the past years, the Aam Aadmi Party has repeatedly proved that it only does vote bank politics and when it comes to protecting the rights of any community, the party remains silent. Your government's attitude during the Delhi riots was extremely disappointing. No concrete steps were taken to provide justice to the victims of the riots, nor was any sympathy shown.

Our colleague Tahir Hussain, who was falsely implicated in the riots, was not only expelled from the party but was also left to his own devices.

allegations against the party

Abdul Rahman said that Delhi Markaz and Maulana Saad were targeted during the Corona epidemic. The party neither took any stand on this matter nor refuted the misleading propaganda against Muslims. Recently, you did not even consider it necessary to tweet on a sensitive issue likethe  Sambal riots. The party claimed that it would do honest and transparent politics, but today it too has got entangled in power politics like other parties.
