Bullet Train Corridor : The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project has achieved a major milestone. All the nine river bridges being built between Vapi and Surat under this project are now fully ready. The bridge built on the Kharera river in Navsari district of Gujarat is the most recent bridge construction of this project. This bridge is the twelfth out of a total of twenty bridges being built in Gujarat. Let us tell you that the construction work on this bridge was completed on 29 October.
Features of the bridge
According to the information, the bridge over the Kharera River is 120 meters long and has three large girders, each of which is 40 meters long. The pillars of the bridge are 14.5 to 19 meters high and include a circular pillar and three other pillars. This bridge is located between the Vapi and Bilimora stations. This bridge is one of the many new bridges that are being built over the rivers flowing in this corridor.
Bridges built at these places
The nine bridges built on the Vapi-Surat section include bridges over the Kharera, Kolak, Par, Auranga, Purna, Mindhola, Ambika, Kaveri, and Vengania rivers. These bridges connect several districts like Valsad and Navsari. Apart from this, three other river bridges have also been completed outside this section. These include bridge construction over the Dhadhar River in the Vadodara district, the Mohar River in the Kheda district, and the Vatrak River in the Kheda district.

This 508 km long corridor will connect India's two largest economic centers, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. In this project, trains will run at a speed of 320 km per hour. After the completion of this project, the travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad will be reduced to about two hours, which is currently six hours by normal train.
