DUSU Elections Counting: The counting of votes for the long-pending Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections began on Monday at the university's North Campus, nearly two months after polling. The DUSU results were to be declared on September 28, a day after the elections, but were delayed due to a Delhi High Court order. The court had stayed the counting of votes until posters, hoardings, and other material used during the election campaign to deface property were removed.

21 candidates are in the fray for four posts

21 candidates are in the fray for four posts of the students' union. Eight candidates are in the fray for the post of president, five for the post of vice-president, and four each for the posts of secretary and joint secretary. The elections are mainly contested between the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the Congress-backed National Students Union of India (NSUI), and the alliance of the left-backed All India Students Association (AISA) and Students Federation of India (SFI).

Competition for the position of president

For the post of president, there is a possibility of a tough fight between ABVP's Rishabh Chaudhary, NSUI's Raunak Khatri, and AISA's Savi Gupta. For the post of vice president, ABVP's Bhanu Pratap Singh, NSUI's Yash Nandal, and Ayush Mandal of AISA are in the fray.

Competition between them for the post of secretary
