What was the matter
In fact, DSP Zia-ul-Haq was murdered on March 2, 2013, in Balipur village of Pratapgarh. The CBI was investigating the high-profile case. The then Pradhan Gulshan Yadav along with Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya were accused of the DSP's murder. However, both were given a clean chit in the CBI investigation. Officials said that Yadav's murder had led to a law and order situation as a mob of his (Yadav's) supporters set a house on fire. It is alleged that the family members of the deceased Pradhan and his supporters chased the police team and attacked them with sticks, rods, and other weapons. The CBI had filed a chargesheet against Phoolchand Yadav, Pawan Kumar Yadav, Yogendra Yadav alias Bablu, Manjeet Yadav, Ghanshyam Saroj, Ram Lakhan Gautam, Chhote Lal Yadav, Ram Ashray, Munna Patel, Shiv Ram Pasi, Jagat Bahadur Pal alias Bulle Pal and Sudhir Yadav. Yogendra Yadav alias Bablu died during the trial. In a statement, the CBI spokesperson said that the special court had convicted 10 accused, while Sudhir Yadav was acquitted.
Why did the murder happen
On 2 March 2013, the then Pradhan Nanhe Yadav was murdered in Bandipur village in Kunda. Two bike riders fired bullets at him. After this incident, Nanhe Yadav's supporters reached Balipur village with weapons and started creating havoc and setting fire to the house of Kamta Pal of the same village. After getting information about this incident, the then Kunda Kotwal could not muster the courage to go towards Nanhe Yadav's house with his team. Therefore, CO Zia-ul-Haq moved towards the incident site. During that time, Raja Bhaiya used to be influential. Therefore, the villagers were fired. In such a situation, the policemen engaged in the security of the CO hid. When the CO reached among the villagers, he was surrounded from all sides. Meanwhile, due to firing again, Nanhe Yadav's younger brother Suresh Yadav also died. After this, the anger of the villagers increased, and surrounded the CO and beat him, and then shot him dead.
