Delhi Vidhan Sabha Chunav 2025 : Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has ordered an inquiry into Congress leader Sandeep Dixit's allegations of espionage and bringing large amounts of cash from Punjab to Delhi ahead of next year's assembly elections. In a letter written on December 25, Dixit mentioned the alleged presence of intelligence personnel of the 'Punjab government' outside his residence in Delhi. He alleged that official vehicles belonging to these personnel are often seen outside his house, which is an indication of surveillance somewhere.

BJP and Congress are in collusion to attack Kejriwal

Reacting to the allegations, the Aam Aadmi Party ( AAP ) said that the BJP and Congress are in collusion to attack Arvind Kejriwal. The party said in a statement that they (BJP and Congress) have no vision or plan for Delhi and all their allegations and cases have always been proven wrong. There is an AAP government in both Delhi and Punjab. Saxena has sought a report within three days on the allegations.

Dikshit also accused the Punjab government of sending huge amounts of cash (in crores) to Delhi to influence voters before the elections.

He said some private vehicles are coming to Delhi through Haryana and Rajasthan, often under the protection of Punjab Police. The Lieutenant Governor's office ordered the Delhi Police Commissioner to take immediate steps to check vehicles on the city borders, especially those coming from Punjab. The Director Generals of Police of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan have been advised to remain on high alert and keep an eye on any unusual activity. The Chief Secretary of Delhi has been directed to inform the Chief Electoral Officer to increase vigilance as the election date approaches. Assembly elections are to be held in Delhi in February.
