Delhi-NCR Air Pollution: Delhi-NCR region faced poor air quality for two consecutive days. Especially, the pollution level in Delhi reached 234 on Monday. This information was received from the data of the Pollution Department. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), after Dussehra, on Sunday, Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) reached 224, which falls in the 'poor' category. The department said that before this, the last time the air quality was recorded in the poor category was 19 days ago (on September 25). Therefore, now preparations have been made for the ban. On Monday, the Air Quality Management Commission said that all the actions envisaged under Phase-I of GRAP - 'poor' air quality (Delhi AQI between 2O1-3OO) will be implemented in NCR from 8 am on October 15.
Sudden deterioration in air quality parameters
There has been a sudden drop in air quality parameters in the region in the last 24 hours, pushing the AQI into the "poor" category and it is also predicted that the air quality will remain in the "poor" category in the coming days. The maximum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 34.4 degrees Celsius, one degree above the season's average. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the relative humidity level ranged between 75 percent and 39 percent and the minimum temperature was 18.6 degrees Celsius.
The weather department has forecast a partly cloudy sky on Tuesday with a maximum temperature of around 35 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of around 18 degrees Celsius. An AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 to 100 'satisfactory', 101 to 200 'moderate', 201 to 300 'poor', 301 to 400 'very poor' and an AQI between 401 to 500 is considered 'severe'.
