ED has raided the house of another DMK minister in Tamil Nadu. ED is raiding several places related to DMK's strong leader and Tamil Nadu minister Durai Murugan. It is being told that this raid is related to a case registered in 2019. This case is related to Durai's son and DMK MP Kathir Anand. Raids have been conducted at five of his places. This raid started in the morning and is still going on. ED officials have not yet given any statement to the media in this regard.

The case is in the name of Kathir Anand

Kathir Anand is the son of S. Durai Murugan, a senior leader of the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu and the second-in-command minister in the Stalin government. Durai Murugan is the DMK general secretary and is considered close to Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. Durai Murugan is the general secretary of the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu and a close aide of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. He was also close to former Chief Minister Karunanidhi. Tamil Nadu Water Resources Minister Durai Murugan has a lot of influence in Vellore district. According to the DMK, the ED is trying to target the party through this raid. This raid is said to be related to the case registered against them in 2019.

election has been cancelled

Let us tell you that in 2019, the Election Commission (ECI) recommended the cancellation of elections on the Vellore Lok Sabha seat. After this recommendation, the then President Ram Nath Kovind took action on it and canceled the Vellore election. Actually, during the election, the Election Commission seized unaccounted cash of Rs 11 crore from Kathir Anand's house and other places. After this, the election was canceled on 16 April. Elections were held again on 5 August 2019. This time DMK candidate Kathir Anand defeated AIADMK's A.C. Shanmugham by a narrow margin of 8,141 votes. Kathir Anand won again in 2024. He defeated A.C. Shanmugham by a huge margin of 2,15,702 votes.

Two other DMK ministers Senthil Balaji and K. Ponmudi are also facing ED cases on money laundering charges. The Supreme Court recently granted bail to Balaji in this case, following which Balaji has again become a minister in the Stalin government.
