Education News Today in Hindi : With the appointment of 27-year-old KN Renuka Pujar at Vijayanagar Sri Krishnadevaraya University, she has become the first transgender to be appointed as a guest lecturer at a university in Karnataka. Pujar completed her postgraduate studies in Kannada at the university and joined the Kannada department at the Nandihalli campus (PG centre) as a guest lecturer earlier this month, officials said.

Pujara, a resident of Kurugodu in Ballari district, told PTI, "I am very happy. I have reached this point after a lot of struggle. The university has helped me a lot. I completed my degree in 2018. I completed my Masters (MA) in 2022 and am working as a guest lecturer.''
Pujara said he got support from his parents, which helped him reach this position. He said his family is from an agricultural background and his parents educated him to be successful in life.
Pujar said, “When I took admission in MA, the teachers of the university also helped me a lot during my studies. I like teaching and I want to do PhD and become a professor. I want transgenders to also get education.”
According to university officials, out of 30 candidates who had applied for the post, Pujara had the required qualifications, good marks and performed well in the lectures, due to which he was selected by the committee.
