Government formation in Jammu and Kashmir : After the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the process of forming a government has intensified. Meanwhile, the Congress has announced support for the alliance partner National Conference in the state. A meeting of the legislature party was also held on Friday in this regard. Jammu and Kashmir Congress President Tariq Hameed Karra said that it has been decided in the legislature party meeting that we will support the National Conference and the letter of support will be handed over to them soon.

Karra said that the decision on who will be the leader of the Congress Legislative Party has been handed over to the Congress High Command. He said, our central leadership will take a decision in this regard. Let us tell you, that earlier Aam Aadmi Party has also announced to support for the National Conference. A letter of support was submitted to the Lieutenant Governor in this regard on behalf of the party.

We have no demands from the government.

Congress chief Tariq Hameed Karra said that we are supporting the National Conference for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. We have no demands on the government. We are supporting them for the betterment of the people of Jammu and Kashmir while maintaining the spirit of India Alliance. He said, we will sit with them formally and at that time we will discuss what the model of governance will be like. The spirit of this alliance is far beyond the game of numbers and ministerial posts.

National Congress became the largest party in the elections.

After the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the National Conference emerged as the largest party. The party won the maximum number of 42 seats. Its ally Congress won 6 seats while its third ally CPM won 1 seat. Aam Aadmi Party also won one seat here. Four independent MLAs have also supported the National Conference, which has increased the total number of MLAs to 46. The majority figure in the assembly is also 46.
