FIP Promotion India Padel Open: In the first match of the evening session at the FIP Promotion India Padel Open at Bennett University on Friday, the Indian pair of Chaitanya and Vikram Shah gave a brilliant performance to defeat the fourth-seeded pair of Islam Ghunaim and Mohamed Elzayat in a thrilling three-set match in the Round of 16.

The Indian pair won the first two games against the fourth-seeded pair, which made them a bit uncomfortable. But Ghunaim and Elzayat soon took the lead and soon equalled 2-2 in the first set. It was a neck-and-neck contest and soon the score became 3-3. It got even more intense with every passing point and Ghunaim and Elzayat took a 4-3 lead, but Vikram and Chaitanya made it 4-4 by the next game.

Ghunaim and Elzayat left no stone unturned and took a 5-4 lead. The last game went completely in their favour and the fourth-seeded pair won the first set 6-4.

Ghunaim and Elzayat showed their strength right at the start of the second set and won the first game easily. But the Indian pair hit some very good shots to level the score at 1-1 and soon, they won the next four games to take a 5-1 lead. Ghunaim and Elzayat needed some time to bounce back and eventually stopped the Indians' brilliant performance by winning a hat-trick of games and found themselves at a slender margin of 4-5. But Chaitanya and Vikram survived the small margin and won the second set 6-4 to take the match and put the fourth-seeded favourites in the deciding set.

In the third and final set, Ghunaim and Elzayat started off with a bang, winning the first game comfortably but Chaitanya and Vikram kept up the momentum to level the score at 1-1. The fourth-seeded pair then moved to a 2-1 lead but the Indian duo came back just as quickly to level the score at 2-2, with the match never straying from an exciting and nail-biting contest.

After this, Chaitanya and Vikram won four consecutive games to win the set 6-2 and defeated the fourth-seeded pair in the men's doubles competition. With this win, Chaitanya and Vikram have reached the next round of the tournament. Their strong performance makes them one of the strong contenders to win the tournament.
