But, on Monday evening, NCP Sharad Power faction leader and former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh was attacked, due to which Anil Deshmukh was injured. Some people pelted stones at his car in Katol, after which he appeared to have a deep injury on his head. In the video that has surfaced, blood is seen coming out of his head.

Former Maharashtra minister and Nationalist Congress Party (SP) leader Anil Deshmukh was seriously injured in Nagpur on Monday night when his car was pelted with stones. Police gave this information. He said that the incident took place when Anil Deshmukh was returning to Katol at around 8 pm after attending a public meeting in Narkhed village. According to the police, some unidentified persons pelted stones at Anil Deshmukh's car near Belphata on Jalalkhed Road near Katol, in which he was injured and was immediately taken to Katol Civil Hospital. Nagpur Superintendent of Police (Rural) Harsh Poddar confirmed the incident and said that officers have been sent to the spot.
He said that an investigation had started. Police are trying to identify those responsible for the attack. This incident happened on the last day of campaigning for the assembly elections to be held on November 20 in Maharashtra. Anil Deshmukh's son Salil Deshmukh is contesting from the Katol assembly constituency on the NCP (SP) ticket. He is pitted against Charan Singh Thakur of the BJP.
