Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, who holds the portfolio of Delhi Chief Minister and also serves as the * national convenor of Aam Aadmi Party, made his nomination for New Delhi parliamentary constituency for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections held on Wednesday. His election affidavit filed together with the elections commission shows that Kejriwal enjoys total assets amounting to Rs 1.73 crores, and that he neither possesses a house nor a car.
According to the affidavit, Mr. Kejriwal declared having movable property worth Rs 3.46 lakh which comprise Rs 2.96 lakh held in savings in various branches of banks and Rs 50,000 in cash. His only additional immovable asset is a flat in Ghaziabad whose estimated market value is Rs 1.7 crores. The said affidavit also indicated that Mr.Kejriwal does not hold any investments in the form of time deposits with banks, mutual funds, shares, or any insurance policies.
Again, Kewal also fiscal year 2023-24 reported to have earned little compared to the previous period where he earned Rs 44.90 lakh as his annual income in the year 2020. He now earns Rs 7.21 lakh rupees. He said his salary as aMember of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) is his main income.
A retired government official and Kejriwal’s wife disclosed total assets of Rs 2.5 crores, which includes her pension as a former government employee that brings her annual income to Rs 14.10 Lakhs. This is double what her husband makes. Among her assets are a house in Gurugram which is valued at 1.5 crores along with Rs 1 crore of movable assets, which consist of gold, silver and other valuables.
The total worth of the couple amassed around Rs 4.23 crore in regards to their this net combined worth was a significant increase in comparison to keiwaal’s assets worth of Rs. 340 crore in 2020 and rupees 210 crore in 2015.
Due to pending criminal allegations, Kejriwal has admitted to possessing approximately Rs 14 crore worth of physical assets. However, it is important to deny that Kejriwal has been representing New Delhi and has won fixtures against political rivals Sandeep Dikshit and Parvesh Verma in the last few elections.
