Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel stated before the ceasefire began on Sunday that he would delay the process for another three hours, to allow Hamas to hand over the list of hostages. The Prime Minister of Israel's office stated the ceasefire would never start until Israel had all the requested hostages. The ceasefire began in Gaza on the 15th of November at the designated time of 11:15 AM local time after Hamas allowed three hostages to be freed.
Gaza's civil defence agency reported a continuation of the Israeli Airstrikes some hours earlier, with Palestinian Medics stating the current casualty stood at 13 Palestinians twas during the agreed upon ceasefire time od 0830 hours and 1515 hours: While Hamas and its allies agreed to a pre-established ceasefire, the Israeli army directed the airstrikes during Benjamin Netanyahu's orders.
Hamas sourced the postponement to ‘technical issues’ like ‘the intricacies of the situation on the ground and the disinformation that was still going on.’ Middle East mediators reportedly asked for 48 hours of peace prior to the ceasefire but the ongoing bombings added more difficulty to the list-sharing exercise. A Palestinian official said that the condition of the sites made it hard to give out the names.
Israel, two hours beyond the scheduled timeframe, communicated that they got the list and were 'going through the differences' prior to informing about when the cessation of hostilities would begin.
According to Hamas, the three hostages scheduled for release on the upcoming Sunday are Romi Gonen, Doron Steinbrecher, and Emily Damari.
