In a significant crackdown on unfair practices, the Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) has reported 31 cases of cheating across the state during the ongoing Secondary (Academic/Open School) and D.El.Ed. (Re-appear) examinations. Among these, six cases of impersonation were detected, raising concerns about the integrity of the examination process.

Dr. Munish Nagpal, H.P.S., Secretary of HBSE, confirmed the incidents, stating that strict actions were being taken to ensure fair and transparent exams.

Massive Number of Candidates Appeared for Exams

On the day of the Hindi examination, a total of 2,84,809 students appeared for the Secondary (Academic/Open School) exam, while 442 student-teachers took the Pedagogy of Hindi Language exam.

Similarly, on March 10, a total of 1,10,612 students appeared for the History and Biology exams at the Senior Secondary level, along with 1,346 student-teachers for the Proficiency & Pedagogy of Mathematics Education exam in the D.El.Ed. (Re-appear) category.

Surprise Raids and Discovery of Cheating Material

Chairman’s Flying Squad Inspections

The HBSE Chairman’s flying squad conducted surprise inspections at multiple exam centers in Ambala District. The examinations proceeded smoothly there, with no reported violations.

Raid in Sonipat Based on Anonymous Tip

Dr. Nagpal personally led an inspection team to Sonipat district following an anonymous tip about unfair practices.

The team raided a house near Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Shamri (Gohana) and discovered a notebook containing:
Names of students
Roll numbers
Set codes matching the question papers distributed that day

Immediate Action Taken:

  • The individuals found in possession of the notebook, along with their phones, were handed over to the police.
  • A formal complaint was lodged at Sadar Police Station, Gohana.

Negligent Staff Dismissed for Exam Misconduct

The flying squad also identified multiple instances of negligence by examination staff, leading to dismissals and disciplinary actions.

Officials Relieved from Duty

The following staff members were removed from examination duty due to carelessness:

The Education Department has been formally requested to take strict action against these individuals.

Six Impersonation Cases Reported

The flying squad uncovered cases of impersonation, where fake candidates were caught appearing for exams on behalf of actual students.

  • One case at Centre Superintendent Nuh-31 (Haji Bakshi Memorial Sr. Sec. School, Satputiyaka)
  • One case at Centre Superintendent Hisar-50 (Guru Jambheshwar Sr. Sec. School, Jawahar Nagar)

Legal Action Taken: FIRs have been registered against all fake candidates involved in these incidents.

Exam Cancellations Due to Cheating

The HBSE has canceled several exams after serious violations were found during inspections.

Sanskrit, Physical Education, Drawing, and Music Exams (held on March 5, 2025, at R.K.V.M.)
Secondary Mathematics Exam (at multiple centers in Gangtan, R.V.M.V. Dawla-01, District Nuh, Punhana-03, District Palwal, Hodal-09, and Hodal-10)

Reason for Cancellation:
At Chang-1 (Bhiwani), the flying squad found that objective-type questions had been solved incorrectly, violating examination regulations.

    • Mr. Ganesh Das (PGT-Geography) as Centre Superintendent
    • Additional supervisors and deputy superintendents
