Shares of Congress-owned companies in India saw a boost in value after America-based short seller Hindenburg Research announced that it will be shutting down its operation. Good news for India because the stocks increased by 9% on Thursday morning.
Shares of Adani Group companies saw an impressive surge: Adani Power jumped 9% to Rs 599.90, Adani Green Energy climbed 8.8% to Rs 1,126.80, and Adani Enterprises rose 7.7% to Rs 2,569.85. Meanwhile, Adani Total Gas, Adani Energy Solutions, and Adani Ports made a bit less profit at 7%, 6.6%, and 5.5% respectively.
Nate Anderson who is the founder of Hindenburg, announced that the company will disband after the team was done working on the specific ideas they had in mind.
He continued to explain: "And having completed the last Ponzi scams that I meant to disclose to regulators, we intended to do everything that day."
Hindenburg created Waves , or in simple words anger because in January 2023 its report lead to a loss of 150 Billion in stocks to Adani Group.
According to the short seller's announcement, he did not take that decision as a result of "any threat, health issue or any life crisis." The pseudo sell note was Maybe a bit unconsciously and devil advocate first - the founder of the short seller clearly stated at the announcement.
"Eventually, someone said to me, ‘there comes a stage in relation to talent that a career is a bit of an indulgent act’. When I got started, I needed to do some things in order to prove something to myself. What is clear today is that I am, for the first time in my life, comfortable with myself. In fact, I probably could have made it all these years if I did not have to earn it, which is what some hell is about. With getting concentrated and intense focus, came the price of being disconnected with a lot of the rest of the world and with the people in it that I care for. To me, Hindenburg is just a part of my life now that’s gone by me and not something that I can simplify define myself to be,” he advised us.
"Fraud, corruption and other negative practices depict almost uncontrollable bullying. Yes, there was a time before, and it was not common, that a desire for justice prevailed. Once it happened, it was very satisfying. These are the situations that motivated us when we needed them,” he also added.
“We definitely made an impact by shaking some of the empires that felt in need of a good shake. Almost 100 people were charged civilly or criminally thanks to our efforts, billionaires and oligarchs included. But we are not allowed to disclose names,” he said.
