Manipur violence: The Home Ministry has taken a big action in the Manipur violence case. The ministry has handed over the investigation of three cases related to Manipur violence to the National Investigation Agency ( NIA ). The NIA will investigate those cases which led to the death of people and disruption of public order. Officials said that after the recent order issued by the Home Ministry, the agency has taken over these cases from the Manipur Police.

This news came to light when Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday canceled all his rallies in Maharashtra elections and returned to Delhi. He reviewed the security situation in Manipur and directed top security officials to take every possible step to ensure peace in the state. Shah held this meeting soon after returning from Maharashtra after canceling his election rallies. Sources said that the Home Minister reviewed the security situation in Manipur with top security officials and directed them to take every possible step to ensure peace. This step has been taken at a time when the situation remains volatile due to protests and violence after the bodies of women and children were recovered in Manipur. Manipur has been battling ethnic conflict since May last year.

Offices of political parties set on fire

There were incidents of arson in the offices of several political parties in violence-hit Manipur's Jiribam district on Sunday night. The Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum (ITLF), a prominent organization of the Kuki-Jo tribe, said on Sunday night that at least five churches, a school, a petrol pump, and 14 houses of tribals were burnt down by attackers from the rival community in Jiribam on Saturday night. A police official said that the Army, Assam Rifles, BSF, CRPF, and Manipur Police, including state commandos, led by top officials, conducted a flag march in the capital Imphal and its outskirts on Sunday night. Police said that the body of a woman was recovered floating in the Barak river on Sunday. The body was recovered by Assam Police from the Barak River in Cachar district, which borders Jiribam.
