For almost a year now, the fitness level of Mohammed Shami has been one of the most discussed issues in regard to his performance for the Team India and also for BCCI. The last time Shami played for the national team was during the final of the World Dry World Cup. After that, he was out due to an ankle injury. There were high expectations of him making it for India in the border-gavaskar test series however due to another voltage knee swelling that was apparently due to going along in some other tournament. Nevertheless, he has featured Bihar domestic circuit and did well which makes us believe him making a comeback is around the corner.

Cricbuzz has pieced together a picture, and the picture suggests that Mohammed Shami will likely be part of the squad for the ODI series against England commencing February 6. He is primarily invited by India’s selectors for the Champions Trophy 2025. The reason for this is due to him being eligible to receive NCA clearance or being boarded NCA clearance by the SPORTS SCIENCE unit of BCCIs centre of excellency.

It appears that Mohammed Shami will most likely not be selected for the five-match T20I series set to take place in England, which starts from January 22. On the bright side, he will be replaced by Arshdeep Singh, who is set to head the bowling squad in the series, as both Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah will be absent. Moreover, it’s expected that Arshdeep will be part of the team for the ODI series and Champions Trophy later on.

Jasprit Bumrah Likely To miss ODI Series And CT 2025 Group Stage 

In some unfortunate news, RevSportz cites that It’s very likely Jasprit Bumrah will not be playing against England in the T20I ODI series starting on February 9. As an example, the team leaders have also said that they expect him to be absent during the Champions Trophy in 2025. Furthermore, Umrah’s injury history shows that he starts attending camps ahead of large tournaments.
