Hurricane Milton : Imagine how dangerous that storm would be, whose waves can be up to 15 feet high and speed 257 kilometers per hour. America is facing such a storm today. The name of this storm is Milton, which is also being called the biggest storm of the century. Milton's speed is expected to increase further, due to which this destruction can become even bigger. The most destruction can occur in the American city of Florida.

How many cities are affected by Milton

The Guardian Hurricane Milton is a Category 5 storm and is expected to make landfall in the US late Wednesday or early Thursday. By then, Milton is expected to double in speed, bringing storm surges of up to 15 feet (4.5 meters) to parts of the lower Florida coast, including the cities of Tampa, St Petersburg, and Sarasota.

Storm of the Century

Hurricane Milton is so dangerous it's being called the "storm of the century," with sustained winds of 160 mph (257 km/h), it is expected to weaken slightly as it reaches a Category 4 with sustained wind speeds of about 130 mph. Hurricane Milton is headed toward Florida's west coast. In an 8 a.m. update, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said it's unclear where the storm's center will land, but the impact will be "much more widespread than that ... heavy storm surges could occur along just about every location along Florida's west coast."

How many people will have to leave their homes?

Officials have issued mandatory evacuation orders in 11 Florida counties, which have a combined population of about 5.9 million. Anyone who wants to stay put should take care of themselves. Officials are warning residents not to rely on the storm weakening. The storm is forecast to drop up to 18 inches (46 centimeters) of rain as it crosses central Florida and heads toward the Atlantic Ocean. "If you're in a one-story home and you get 15 feet of storm surge, which means water will come in right away, you have no place to go, so if you're in it, you're basically in a coffin," Tampa Mayor Jane Castor said.
