EdelGive Hurun India Philanthropy list 2024: HCL Technologies' Shiv Nadar has once again surpassed the country's richest people in terms of philanthropy in FY 2023-24. According to the EdelGive-Hurun India's Philanthropy List, Nadar's share in philanthropic work increased by five percent to Rs 2,153 crore in FY 2023-24. This amount is much higher than the country's first richest Indian Gautam Adani 's Rs 330 crore and the country's second richest Reliance Industries' Mukesh Ambani 's Rs 407 crore. Ambani is second and Adani is fifth in this list.

The Bajaj family, with interests in the automotive and finance sectors, donated Rs 352 crore to charity, up 33 percent year-on-year, to rank third on the list. Kumaramangalam Birla and his family ranked fourth with a total donation of Rs 334 crore, up 17 percent year-on-year.

According to the Hurun India Philanthropy List 2024, there were a total of 203 individuals who spent more than Rs 5 crore on charity. 1,539 people had a total wealth of more than Rs 1,000 crore and their total wealth increased by 46 per cent this year.

Interestingly, the average donation given by the 203 donors in the list has dropped to Rs 43 crore from Rs 71 crore given by the 119 donors in the 2023 list.

Nadar is third on the rich list with a net worth of Rs 3.14 lakh crore, while Adani's wealth is Rs 11.6 lakh crore and Ambani's is Rs 10.14 lakh crore.
