Adelaide: All-rounder Beau Webster, who has not played a single international match yet, can be included in the Australian team as a cover for injured Mitchell Marsh for the second Test against India. According to Fox Cricket, Webster has been included in Australia's team for the day-night Test match starting in Adelaide on December 6.

A decision on Marsh's fitness will be taken before the second Test

After the 295-run defeat to India in the first Test match, Australian captain Pat Cummins had said, 'He (Marsh) has been struggling with some problems since the UK tour. He was a bit troubled in this match as well. He has 10 days to become fully fit. We will take a decision only after assessing his fitness.'

Who is Beau Webster?

If Marsh does not recover in time for the second Test, Webster may be given a chance to debut. Webster, a 30-year-old all-rounder from Tasmania, has performed well in the Sheffield Shield in the last two years. He has scored 1788 runs with the help of five centuries and nine half-centuries. He is also a right-arm fast bowler like Marsh.

He is making a splash for Tasmania in the Sheffield Shield

He played brilliantly for Tasmania in the Sheffield Shield match against New South Wales earlier this week, taking five wickets and playing two useful innings of 61 and 49 runs. Despite the big defeat in the first Test match, Australia is unlikely to make major changes to their team for the second Test match.
