Indian women's cricket team squad: Opener Shefali Verma has been dropped from India's 16-member squad for the upcoming three-match women's ODI series against Australia. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not given any official reason for her exclusion, but her recent poor form is being cited as the reason behind it. Shefali scored just 56 runs in the recent home series against New Zealand, her last ODI half-century coming in July 2022.

Young off-spinner Shreyanka Patil is also recovering from a calf injury and is out of the team. Shreyanka Patil also missed the T20 World Cup 2024. Apart from her, D. Hemalatha, Uma Chhetri, and Sayali Satgar are also out of the team that won against New Zealand last month.

Harleen Deol is back.

However, the squad sees the return of Harleen Deol, who last played for India in December 2023. Deol has been ruled out due to a knee injury while playing for Gujarat Giants in the Women's Premier League (WPL). Young wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh has also joined the squad after missing the New Zealand series to complete her Grade 12 exams. However, leg-spinner Asha Shobhana and all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar are absent as they recover from injuries sustained during the T20 World Cup.
