IND vs NZ 3rd Test: India has strengthened its position on the second day of the third test being played between India and New Zealand. New Zealand has only one wicket left in the second innings and has managed to score only 171 runs. Senior off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who bowled brilliantly on the second day, admitted that a target of around 150 on the turning pitch of Wankhede Stadium will not be easy for the Indian batsmen. He has taken 3 wickets so far in the second innings. He was wicketless in the first innings.
New Zealand scored 171 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the second innings on the second day of the third cricket test, giving them a lead of 143 runs. India's former captain and head coach Anil Kumble also believes that this target will not be easy.
Ashwin told Dinesh Karthik in an interview on Jio Cinema, "We have to end their innings. Every run saved in this inning is important. It is not easy to score runs on this pitch. We have to bat very well."
Ashwin is surprised by the slow bounce on this pitch because this is not usually the case in Mumbai. Ashwin said, "I thought there would be more bounce.
There is a lot of slow bounce here whereas the pitch in Mumbai is not like this. The match is divided into two parts. One is the pavilion end and the other end and the nature of both is different. When bowling from the dressing room side, it is flat and the bounce is very low.
