Bengaluru: New Zealand is just 107 runs away from a rare Test win in India but pacer William O'Rourke said the target will not be easy despite the low target. New Zealand bowled out India for 462 in the second innings with O'Rourke and fellow pacer Matt Henry taking six wickets together.
It is not easy to win from here, the Indian team is world-class
O'Rourke said in a press conference held after the day's play, "I would not say that it is easy to win from here. We are facing a world-class team. But we have to be confident to go on the field tomorrow. I am hoping that it will not rain tomorrow and we will get a chance to register this extraordinary victory."
There was bounce and speed in the pitch, it benefited
O'Rourke said that his first match in India has been great so far due to the pace and bounce of the pitch at Chinnaswamy Stadium. He said, 'This was my first match here. The pitch had a little more bounce and pace than what we had expected before coming here. It is definitely suitable for a bowler like me.'
Virat Kohli's wicket is special.
O'Rourke, who dismissed Virat Kohli in the first innings, made a special mention of his wicket. O'Rourke said, 'It is definitely very special to dismiss one of the great players of cricket. Of course, you see these players moving forward. So it was great to come here and take his wicket.' The 23-year-old fast bowler said that Sarfaraz Khan (150) and Rishabh Pant (99) put a lot of pressure on the New Zealand team by making a partnership of 177 runs for the fourth wicket.
