India Post GDS 2nd Merit List 2024 PDF Download: The second merit list of India Post GDS Result 2024 has been released. India Post Office has released the results for all circles except Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir. According to the notification hosted on the official website, the results of Haryana and Jammu Kashmir have not been released as the Model Code of Conduct is in force in these states. The notification reads ‘DS Online Engagement Schedule, July-2024 : List-I of Shortlisted Candidates Published for all Circles (Except Haryana & Jammu Kashmir as Model Code of Conduct is in Force at these states)’

When was the first merit list released?

Indian Postal Department released the first merit list on 19th August and the candidates selected in this list have to submit their documents by 3rd September and the last date for document verification for the candidates selected in the second merit list is 6th September.

44,228 Gramin Dak Sevaks will be recruited

The Indian Postal Department is conducting the recruitment process for 44,228 Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) vacancies in 23 circles across the country. The selected candidates will be appointed as Gramin Dak Sevaks (Branch Postmaster (BPM)/Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)/Dak Sevak) in various offices of the Department of Posts.

Salary of Gramin Dak Sevaks, India Post GDS Salary

GDS are remunerated in the form of Time Related Continuity Allowance. As per the official notification, the TRCA slab for BPM ranges between Rs.12,000/- to Rs.29,380, while the TRCA slab for ABPM/GDS posts ranges between Rs.10,000/- to Rs.24,470. GDS are also entitled to certain other allowances and social security benefits, including the GDS Gratuity and Discharge Benefit Scheme (similar to the New Pension Scheme applicable to regular employees).
