Startups of India: The Indian startup ecosystem raised cumulative funding of up to $250 million from 18 deals this week, a growth of 72 percent Domestic startups raised over $145 million last week as investor confidence in the country revived in terms of VC funding. Global investment group Prosus revealed it has invested $100 million in NBFC Vastu Housing Finance and $80 million in fintech Mintify. AI-enabled customer feedback intelligence platform EnInterpretaised $20.8 million in Series A funding led by US-based venture capital firm Canaan Partners.

Electric two-wheeler maker Ultraviolet raised Rs 130 crore in a fresh round of funding from its existing investors Zoho, Lingoto, Mudhal Partners, and Ojas Consultation. Kleiner Perkins, Peak XV Partners (Sequoia Capital India), Wing Ventures, and Recall Capital as well as angel investors also participated in the round. Agrileaf, a leading Indian manufacturer and exporter of biodegradable dinnerware, raised Rs 16 crore (about $2 million) in growth funding led by Capital-A and Samarsh Capital.

On-demand liquidity platform The Money Club raised $2.5 million in its Series A funding round led by Prudent Investment Managers. Ethereum-based leading solar company Glow secured $30 million in funding from renowned venture capital firms Framework and Union Square Ventures. This significant investment will fuel the ambitious mission to drive the adoption of renewable energy in India and around the world. Meanwhile, recognized startups in India have created over 16.6 lakh direct jobs across more than 55 different industries.

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, while giving a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha, said that the total number of employment in the IT sector was 2,04,119, which was the highest. After this, the number of employment in health care and life sciences was 1,47,639. A total of 94,060 employment opportunities were created in business and commercial services. India currently has more than 1,46,000 DPIIT-recognized startups and more than 100 unicorns.
