Arvind Kejriwal Bail News: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, arrested in the excise case, did not get any relief from the Supreme Court on Thursday. After completing the hearing in the case, the apex court reserved its decision. The Delhi High Court has justified the arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the corruption case of the excise policy. Kejriwal has challenged this decision of the High Court in the apex court. Before completing his arguments, Singhvi said that Kejriwal is not a threat to the society, he is not a notorious criminal. After Singhvi, Additional Solicitor General SV Raju started presenting the CBI's side.
Singhvi told the court- Kejriwal got bail twice
Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, while representing Kejriwal in the court, said that the apex court has granted bail to the Delhi CM twice. For the first time, he got bail in May for the Lok Sabha election campaign. The second time, he was granted interim bail in the Enforcement Directorate's arrest case in the excise policy case. Singhvi told the court that the CBI arrested Kejriwal on June 26 in the corruption case but no arrest has been made in this case in the last two years.
CBI filed a reply before hearing
Before the hearing on Kejriwal's pleas began, the CBI filed its second reply in the Supreme Court. Opposing Kejriwal's bail, the investigating agency said that Kejriwal's plea has no merit, so it should be rejected. The Delhi High Court had also rejected Kejriwal's plea and said that his arrest in the CBI case was legal. Terming Kejriwal's plea as illegal, the Delhi High Court had said that the CBI had sufficient evidence for the arrest. The court had just said that all legal procedures were followed in Kejriwal's arrest.
