Virat Kohli: Veteran Indian batsman Virat Kohli reportedly vented his anger on a media person upon his arrival at Melbourne airport ahead of the Boxing Day Test. After the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy ended in a draw at the Gabba, both the Australian and Indian teams left for their next encounter in Melbourne for the fourth Test of the series at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Kohli had a heated exchange with a journalist upon his arrival at the Melbourne airport as he appeared upset with the presence of cameras on his family.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the reporter was interviewing Australian fast bowler Scott Boland when Virat Kohli and his family were spotted nearby. The cameras focused on Kohli, who appeared unhappy with his family being filmed in a public place and got into a heated exchange with a reporter.
A Channel 7 reporter shed further light on the situation. On 7News, he said, "Kohli got a bit angry when he saw the cameras, he thought the media was filming him with his children. It was a misunderstanding." According to 7News, Kohli clarified his position. "I need a bit of privacy with my children, you cannot film without asking me."
Later, when the media pointed out that his kids were not being filmed, the Indian star clarified his position to the media and shook hands with the cameramen before leaving.
Kohli, who started the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia with a century in Perth, has had a poor outing and has scored only 21 runs in the last three matches. India were badly beaten in the second Test at Adelaide and the third Test at the Gabba was drawn due to rain. The Border-Gavaskar series is currently tied at 1-1, with the fourth Test starting on December 26 followed by the final Test of the series in Sydney.
