Kishore Kunal Death: Kishore Kunal, founder of Patna Mahavir Mandir and member of Ram Mandir Trust, passed away. Kishore Kunal suffered a cardiac arrest this morning, after which he was immediately taken to Mahavir Vatsala Hospital, where his life could not be saved. Kunal Kishore was also a former IPS officer. After retirement from IPS service, he got involved in social work. Kishore Kunal was also the chairman of the Bihar State Religious Trust Board and the secretary of Patna's Mahavir Mandir Trust.
Became IPS officer in 1972
Kishore Kunal was born on 10 August 1950 in Bihar. He did his schooling from Baruraj village of Muzaffarpur. After which he did graduation in History and Sanskrit from Patna University. Kishore Kunal became Superintendent of Police of Anand in 1972 by becoming an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from Gujarat cadre. After which he was posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police of Ahmedabad in 1978. After getting promotion in 1983, he became Senior Superintendent of Police in Patna.

Participate in religious activities
Kunal Kishore was the Officer on Special Duty in the Home Ministry from 1990 to 1994. He retired from the police in the year 2000. Kishore Kunal was already involved in religious activities even as an IPS officer. After retirement, he got the post of Vice Chancellor of Kesdi Sanskrit University Darbhanga. He held this post till the year 2004. After which he became the administrator of Bihar State Religious Justice Board. He also started reforming the prevalent casteist religious practices. During the VP Singh government in the country, the central government also appointed Kunal Kishore as a special officer for mediation between Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Babri Masjid Action Committee.
