Uttar Pradesh robbery accused arrested from Maharashtra after 17 years
The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) in collaboration with the Thane police arrested a man, who was absconding in a robbery and dacoity case from UP since 2007, an official said on Wednesday. The accused has been identified as Satish Babulal Gupta alias Satish Tiwari, an anti-extortion cell official here said. He was traced in the Wagle Estate area of Thane city in Maharashtra and was arrested on Monday evening. Gupta, a resident of Almapur village in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district, was wanted in two cases of dacoity and robbery in the northern state, they said.

Five people including four doctors died in a road accident in Uttar Prade .s.h
Five people, including four doctors attached to the Uttar Pradesh Medical University in Saifai, were killed in a road accident on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway late Tuesday night, police said. Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Anand said the incident occurred around 3 am when the Scorpio car driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a divider. "After hitting the divider, the car went to the other side of the road, after which a truck collided with it," the official said. Four doctors and a lab technician died on the spot. A postgraduate student was seriously injured and was rushed to Bhimrao Ambedkar Medical College in Tirwa. The deceased has been identified as Dr . Anirudh Verma (29), a resident of Agra, Santosh Kumar Maurya (46) of Bhadohi, Dr. Arun Kumar (34) of Kannauj, D.r Nardev (35) of Bareilly and laboratory technician Rakesh Kumar (38).

Two students died after their car collided with a divider in Mumbai.
