Farmers Protest March: Farmers of Uttar Pradesh are going to take out a protest march from Noida to the Parliament complex in Delhi today. The effect of the farmers' march to Delhi has started to be seen. There is a huge jam at the Kalindi Kunj border. Farmer organizations are taking out protest marches over their five main demands of compensation and benefits under the new agricultural laws. Givenf their protest, the police have increased security measures in Delhi-NCR and diverted the routes. The protest march is being taken out at a time when the winter session of Parliament is going on these days.
What are the demands of the protesters?
The farmers are demanding allotment of 10 percent plots under the old acquisition law and enhanced compensation of 64.7 ppercent which is four times the market rate compensation. They also want employment and rehabilitation benefits for children of landless farmers, government orders on issues passed by the high-powered committee , and proper settlement of populated areas. The protesting farmers are associated with the Bharatiya Kisan Parishad (BKP) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) and Samyukta Kisan Morcha ( SKM ). Led by BKP leader Sukhbir Khalifa, the protest will begin at noon near the Mahamaya flyover in Noida and farmers will march towards Delhi on foot and tractors. Farmers from 20 districts, including Gautam Buddha Nagar, Agra, Aligarh, and Bulandshahr, will take part in the march.
Increased security measuresGivenf the protest march, the Delhi Police and Gautam Buddh Nagar Police have put up barricades at the Noida-Delhi border to prevent farmers from marching into the national capital. The police will conduct intensive checking of vehicles and have diverted some routes. People have been advised to use the metro to avoid possible traffic jams on some routes. Entry of all types of goods vehicles has been banned on the route from Yamuna Expressway to Delhi via Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and at Pari Chowk from Sirsa to Surajpur in Greater Noida.
Route diversion done
Vehicles going from Chilla Border towards Greater Noida will be able to reach their destination via Sector 14A flyover, Golchakkar Chowk, Sector 15, Sandeep Paper Mill Chowk, and Jhundpura Chowk. Vehicles going fromthe DND Border to Delhi will be able to reach their destination using the elevated road via Film City Flyover via Sector 18. Vehicles coming from Kalindi Border Delhi will be able to reach their destination via Mahamaya Flyover via Sector 37. Vehicles going from Greater Noida to Delhi will be able to reach their destination via Charkha Gol Chakkar via Kalindi Kunj. Similarly, vehicles going from Greater Noida to Delhi will be able to go towards their destination via Hajipur Underpass via Kalindi Kunj and from Sector 51 via Sector 60 and Model Town.
