Hazaribag: Several people were injured in a violent clash between two groups over the installation of religious flags and a loudspeaker during Maha Shivratri celebrations in Jharkhand’s Hazaribag district on Wednesday.

Police & Administration’s Response

Hazaribag Deputy Commissioner Nancy Sahay confirmed the incident, stating that a scuffle and stone pelting broke out in the Ichak area over the use of a sound system.
"Adequate security forces have been deployed, and senior officers are camping at the site. The situation is now under control and peaceful," Sahay told ANI.

What Led to the Clash?

The violence erupted when one group objected to the installation of religious flags and a loudspeaker in front of a school in Dumraon village, under the jurisdiction of Ichak police station.

The argument quickly escalated into a violent altercation, with both sides pelting bricks at each other.
Amid the chaos, several two-wheelers were set on fire, police officials reported.

Senior police officials and additional security forces rushed to the scene to disperse the crowd.
Authorities used force to bring the situation under control.
The area remains tense, but police have assured that law and order have been restored.

"The situation is under control, and enough personnel have been deployed to prevent further unrest," police officials stated.
