Based on intelligence inputs, security forces killed six terrorists in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The army said on Sunday that six other terrorists were injured in the operation. The Pakistani army's media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a statement saying that security forces launched an operation in the Spinwam area of the North Waziristan district of the province based on information about the presence of terrorists.
Six terrorists killed
The ISPR said that during the operation, the troops captured the terrorists' location, resulting in the killing of six militants. The slain militants were actively involved in activities against security forces as well as killing civilians in the area, reports Xinhua news agency.
Weapons recovered
The ISPR statement said that a huge cache of weapons and explosives was also recovered during the operation. The operation is being carried out to eliminate the presence of other terrorists in the area. The army said that Pakistan's security forces are determined to eliminate the threat of terrorism from the South Asian country.
