Manmohan Singh was born on 26 September 1932 in the Punjab province of undivided India. He was a great economist. He went to Rajya Sabha in 1991 from Assam. He has been a Rajya Sabha member for five consecutive terms. He has been a Finance Minister, Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission and Governor of Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Dr. Manmohan Singh is survived by his wife Gursharan Kaur and three daughters.
