New Delhi: Indian cricket team missed out on a very skilled pacer who was able to participate in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy: Shami as he was not brought to Australia with the team.Shami was out of the competitive scene for almost a year due to an injury which later healed up. He started playing with Bengal in some domestic events in November but was still not picked for the Australia Tour.

All assumptions suggested Shami would be included in the squad halfway through the tour but that did not happen which left the decisions regarding his comeback in further international competitions highly uncertain. With India-England series followed by the Champions Trophy coming soon, Shami has a chance to be a part of any one competition or might even take part in both.

As per the reports released by media houses, Shami is able to be selected for the ICC Champions Trophy and has made it clear that he is hopeful for a selection into the team, however, the UK series may be out of the question due to Shami’s absence in international tournaments. The international match that Shami participated in was the ODI World Cup 2023 which was hosted in India, and since then he has been absent from the international stage but is sensing that he may be called in and tiene que ver with it being almost a year since Shami last featured.

Practices in the nets

In an attempt to clean the mess of being added back again into the Indian squad, Shami has been pulling his weight in the net practices and he seems to be going all out. Tuesday’s social media saw Shami’s video go viral of him practicing his bowling in the nets, aside from Tuesday, Shami has also been actively posting videos and pictures of him practicing during net sessions, and many netizens pointed out the account of him being without the squad despite him regaining full fitness.

To conclude the BCCI is almost ready to reveal the details of the teams undertaking the Champions Trophy, alongside the England ODI & T20I series. From Jan 22 on wards, England is set to travel to India hosting five T20I’s followed by December 19 which marks the start of the Champions Trophy 2025 with India playing on an neutral ground along side February 19.
