New Delhi: Mumbai cricketer Musheer Khan on Sunday said he has found a new lease of life after a car accident in Lucknow and is doing fine now. The 19-year-old will be out of action for at least three months due to a neck injury sustained in the accident that will rule him out of Mumbai's matches at the start of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season, starting on October 11.
Got a new life, thanks to Allah
In a video posted on his Instagram handle, Musheer said, 'I want to thank Allah for giving me a new life. I am fine now and Abbu (father) was with me during the accident and he is also fine. I want to thank you all for your prayers.'
The accident happened while going from Azamgarh to Lucknow.
Mushir was traveling from his hometown Azamgarh to Lucknow for the Irani Cup, which begins on October 1. He was accompanied by his father Naushad Khan, who suffered minor scratches in the accident on the Purvanchal Expressway. Their car hit a divider and overturned. Naushad said, 'First of all I thank Allah for giving us this new life and thank all the people who prayed for us, all our well-wishers, fans, our relatives.
Thanks to MCA and BCCI
He said, 'I also want to thank MCA (Mumbai Cricket Association) and BCCI who are taking full care of Mushir.'
Mushir recently scored a brilliant century in the Duleep Trophy. He is the younger brother of Indian cricketer Sarfaraz Khan.
