Firing on Baba Siddiqui: Big news is coming from Maharashtra. Baba Siddiqui, a big leader of Ajit Pawar's faction of NCP, has been shot dead. According to the information, two to three rounds of firing took place on him in Mumbai's Bandra East area, after which he was admitted to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital in critical condition. News agency ANI quoted Lilavati Hospital as saying that Baba Siddiqui died during treatment.

According to the information that has come out so far, this sensational murder happened when Baba Siddiqui had gone to his son Zeeshan Siddiqui's office in Bandra East. During this time, three people started firing at him. It is being told that the attackers fired two to three rounds, in which two bullets hit Baba Siddiqui's stomach and one in the chest.

Police took three people into custody

It is being told that the incident happened around 9:15 pm. After the incident, Mumbai police became alert, and senior officers have also started reaching the spot. Police sources have told that so far 2 people have been detained in the incident. Senior officers said that three attackers were involved in this attack. Police have started an investigation to find the motive of the attack and to identify the people responsible.

Investigation handed over to the crime branch

Mumbai Police has handed over the investigation of this murder case to the Crime Branch. According to the information, two accused have been taken into custody. One of the accused is from Haryana and the other is from Uttar Pradesh, while the search for the third absconding accused is on. On the other hand, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde has expressed grief over the death of Baba Siddiqui. On the other hand, the Special Cell of Delhi Police has also started investigating the Baba Siddiqui case. The Counter Intelligence Unit of Delhi Police, which has previously worked with Mumbai Police in many major operations in Mumbai, is investigating the case.

SP said target

Samajwadi Party has attacked the law and order situation over the murder of Baba Siddiqui. SP spokesperson Fakhrul Hasan Chand said, the shooting and killing of former MLA Baba Siddiqui in Maharashtra reflects the poor law and order situation in Maharashtra. Earlier, firing was also done in front of Salman Khan's house. Criminals have no fear of the law. This murder seems to be a very big conspiracy that requires a high-level investigation. The criminals should be caught as soon as possible.

Baba Siddiqui has been an MLA thrice.

Let us tell you, that Baba Siddiqui has been an MLA from Mumbai's Bandra West assembly seat for three consecutive times in 1999, 2004, and 2009. However, he had to face defeat in the 2014 assembly elections. On 08 February 2024, he resigned from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress Party. Later he joined the Nationalist Congress Party led by Ajit Pawar on 12 February 2024.
