NDA Meeting: Leaders of the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at the Centre held a meeting at the residence of BJP President JP Nadda on Wednesday on the occasion of the birth centenary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Janata Dal United (JDU) leader and Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Apna Dal (S) President and Union Minister Anupriya Patel and Janata Dal (Secular) leader and Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy were present in the meeting.

Which issues were discussed?
Bihar's Hindustani Awam Morcha (S) leader and Union minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) president and Rajya Sabha member Upendra Kushwaha and Bharat Dharma Jana Sena president Tushar Vellappally were also part of the meeting. There was no official statement on the agenda of the meeting, but sources said good governance and political issues were discussed in the meeting. Good governance was the main theme of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.
It was decided to hold the coalition meeting on the birth anniversary of the veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, who is credited with successfully running the first coalition government for a full term. The NDA meeting came at a time when the coalition is pushing for simultaneous elections and all the constituents are supporting the proposal. The joint parliamentary committee set up to examine the two bills related to 'One Nation One Election' is expected to meet on January 8.
